If ARCH environment variable is set it can cause the failure of the kernel modules check during the configure step. The resulting error will be confusing, and may looks like this: > checking for kernel config option compatibility... done > checking whether CONFIG_MODULES is defined... no > configure: error: > *** This kernel does not include the required loadable module > *** support! OpenZFS is an advanced file system and volume manager which was originally developed for Solaris and is now maintained by the OpenZFS community. This repository contains the code for running OpenZFS on Linux and FreeBSD.

Supported Kernels
- The
METAfile contains the officially recognized supported Linux kernel versions. - Supported FreeBSD versions are any supported branches and releases starting from 13.0-RELEASE.
