When functions are inlined, it can make the system much more difficult to instrument using tools such as ftrace, BPF, crash, etc. Thus, to aid development and increase the system's observability, when the "--enable-debuginfo" flag is specified, the "-fno-inline" compilation option will be used for both userspace and kernel modules. ZFS is an advanced file system and volume manager which was originally
developed for Solaris and is now maintained by the Illumos community.
ZFS on Linux, which is also known as ZoL, is currently feature complete. It includes fully functional and stable SPA, DMU, ZVOL, and ZPL layers. And it's native!
