Brian Behlendorf e2b25f698c Add MAXUID define ... For Linux the maximum uid can vary depending on how your kernel is built. The Linux kernel still can be compiled with 16 but uids and gids, although I'm not aware of a major distribution which does this (maybe an embedded one?).
