send_iterate_snap : doall send without fromsnap
The behavior of a NULL fromsnap was inadvertently changed for a doall
send when the send/recv logic in libzfs was updated. Restore the
previous behavior by correcting send_iterate_snap() to include all
the snapshots in the nvlist for this case.

Fix EIO after resuming receive of new dataset over an existing one
When resuming an interrupted ZFS send stream that creates a new dataset
with the same name as an existing dataset, if the existing dataset is
accessed after the failed receive, then after the subsequent successful
receive it will return EIO. This happens because nothing mounts the new
dataset, leaving the old, no longer valid dataset still mounted.

This commit fixes zfs receive to always unmount and remount the
destination, regardless of whether the stream is a new stream or a
resumed stream.

Don't assert on nvlists larger than SPA_MAXBLOCKSIZE
Originally we asserted that all reads are less than SPA_MAXBLOCKSIZE
However, nvlists are not ZFS records, and are not limited to
SPA_MAXBLOCKSIZE.

Add a new environment variable, ZFS_SENDRECV_MAX_NVLIST, to allow the
user to specify the maximum size of the nvlist that can be sent or
received.
Default value: 4 * SPA_MAXBLOCKSIZE (64 MB)

Modify libzfs send routines to return a useful error if the send stream
will generate an nvlist that is beyond the maximum size.

Modify libzfs recv routines to add an explicit error message if the
nvlist is too large, rather than abort()ing.

Move the change the assert() to only trigger on data records

File incorrectly zeroed when receiving incremental stream that toggles -L
Background:

By increasing the recordsize property above the default of 128KB, a
filesystem may have "large" blocks. By default, a send stream of such a
filesystem does not contain large WRITE records, instead it decreases
objects' block sizes to 128KB and splits the large blocks into 128KB
blocks, allowing the large-block filesystem to be received by a system
that does not support the `large_blocks` feature. A send stream
generated by `zfs send -L` (or `--large-block`) preserves the large
block size on the receiving system, by using large WRITE records.

When receiving an incremental send stream for a filesystem with large
blocks, if the send stream's -L flag was toggled, a bug is encountered
in which the file's contents are incorrectly zeroed out. The contents
of any blocks that were not modified by this send stream will be lost.
"Toggled" means that the previous send used `-L`, but this incremental
does not use `-L` (-L to no-L); or that the previous send did not use
`-L`, but this incremental does use `-L` (no-L to -L).

Changes:

This commit addresses the problem with several changes to the semantics
of zfs send/receive:

1. "-L to no-L" incrementals are rejected. If the previous send used
`-L`, but this incremental does not use `-L`, the `zfs receive` will
fail with this error message:

incremental send stream requires -L (--large-block), to match
    previous receive.

2. "no-L to -L" incrementals are handled correctly, preserving the
smaller (128KB) block size of any already-received files that used large
blocks on the sending system but were split by `zfs send` without the
`-L` flag.

3. A new send stream format flag is added, `SWITCH_TO_LARGE_BLOCKS`.
This feature indicates that we can correctly handle "no-L to -L"
incrementals. This flag is currently not set on any send streams. In
the future, we intend for incremental send streams of snapshots that
have large blocks to use `-L` by default, and these streams will also
have the `SWITCH_TO_LARGE_BLOCKS` feature set. This ensures that streams
from the default use of `zfs send` won't encounter the bug mentioned
above, because they can't be received by software with the bug.

Implementation notes:

To facilitate accessing the ZPL's generation number,
`zfs_space_delta_cb()` has been renamed to `zpl_get_file_info()` and
restructured to fill in a struct with ZPL-specific info including owner
and generation.

In the "no-L to -L" case, if this is a compressed send stream (from
`zfs send -cL`), large WRITE records that are being written to small
(128KB) blocksize files need to be decompressed so that they can be
written split up into multiple blocks. The zio pipeline will recompress
each smaller block individually.

A new test case, `send-L_toggle`, is added, which tests the "no-L to -L"
case and verifies that we get an error for the "-L to no-L" case.

Remove deduplicated send/receive code
Deduplicated send streams (i.e. `zfs send -D` and `zfs receive` of such
streams) are deprecated. Deduplicated send streams can be received by
first converting them to non-deduplicated with the `zstream redup`
command.

This commit removes the code for sending and receiving deduplicated send
streams. `zfs send -D` will now print a warning, ignore the `-D` flag,
and generate a regular (non-deduplicated) send stream. `zfs receive` of
a deduplicated send stream will print an error message and fail.

The resulting code simplification (especially in the kernel's support
for receiving dedup streams) should help enable future performance
enhancements.

Several new tests are added which leverage `zstream redup`.

Add zstream redup command to convert deduplicated send streams
Deduplicated send and receive is deprecated. To ease migration to the
new dedup-send-less world, the commit adds a `zstream redup` utility to
convert deduplicated send streams to normal streams, so that they can
continue to be received indefinitely.

The new `zstream` command also replaces the functionality of
`zstreamdump`, by way of the `zstream dump` subcommand. The
`zstreamdump` command is replaced by a shell script which invokes
`zstream dump`.

The way that `zstream redup` works under the hood is that as we read the
send stream, we build up a hash table which maps from `<GUID, object,
offset> -> <file_offset>`.

Whenever we see a WRITE record, we add a new entry to the hash table,
which indicates where in the stream file to find the WRITE record for
this block. (The key is `drr_toguid, drr_object, drr_offset`.)

For entries other than WRITE_BYREF, we pass them through unchanged
(except for the running checksum, which is recalculated).

For WRITE_BYREF records, we change them to WRITE records. We find the
referenced WRITE record by looking in the hash table (for the record
with key `drr_refguid, drr_refobject, drr_refoffset`), and then reading
the record header and payload from the specified offset in the stream
file. This is why the stream can not be a pipe. The found WRITE record
replaces the WRITE_BYREF record, with its `drr_toguid`, `drr_object`,
and `drr_offset` fields changed to be the same as the WRITE_BYREF's
(i.e. we are writing the same logical block, but with the data supplied
by the previous WRITE record).

This algorithm requires memory proportional to the number of WRITE
records (same as `zfs send -D`), but the size per WRITE record is
relatively low (40 bytes, vs. 72 for `zfs send -D`). A 1TB send stream
with 8KB blocks (`recordsize=8k`) would use around 5GB of RAM to
"redup".

Deprecate deduplicated send streams
Dedup send can only deduplicate over the set of blocks in the send
command being invoked, and it does not take advantage of the dedup table
to do so. This is a very common misconception among not only users, but
developers, and makes the feature seem more useful than it is. As a
result, many users are using the feature but not getting any benefit
from it.

Dedup send requires a nontrivial expenditure of memory and CPU to
operate, especially if the dataset(s) being sent is (are) not already
using a dedup-strength checksum.

Dedup send adds developer burden. It expands the test matrix when
developing new features, causing bugs in released code, and delaying
development efforts by forcing more testing to be done.

As a result, we are deprecating the use of `zfs send -D` and receiving
of such streams. This change adds a warning to the man page, and also
prints the warning whenever dedup send or receive are used.

In a future release, we plan to:
1. remove the kernel code for generating deduplicated streams
2. make `zfs send -D` generate regular, non-deduplicated streams
3. remove the kernel code for receiving deduplicated streams
4. make `zfs receive` of deduplicated streams process them in userland
to "re-duplicate" them, so that they can still be received.

ca5777793e Reduce loaded range tree memory usage
This patch implements a new tree structure for ZFS, and uses it to
store range trees more efficiently.

The new structure is approximately a B-tree, though there are some
small differences from the usual characterizations. The tree has core
nodes and leaf nodes; each contain data elements, which the elements
in the core nodes acting as separators between its children. The
difference between core and leaf nodes is that the core nodes have an
array of children, while leaf nodes don't. Every node in the tree may
be only partially full; in most cases, they are all at least 50% full
(in terms of element count) except for the root node, which can be
less full. Underfull nodes will steal from their neighbors or merge to
remain full enough, while overfull nodes will split in two. The data
elements are contained in tree-controlled buffers; they are copied
into these on insertion, and overwritten on deletion. This means that
the elements are not independently allocated, which reduces overhead,
but also means they can't be shared between trees (and also that
pointers to them are only valid until a side-effectful tree operation
occurs). The overhead varies based on how dense the tree is, but is
usually on the order of about 50% of the element size; the per-node
overheads are very small, and so don't make a significant difference.
The trees can accept arbitrary records; they accept a size and a
comparator to allow them to be used for a variety of purposes.

The new trees replace the AVL trees used in the range trees today.
Currently, the range_seg_t structure contains three 8 byte integers
of payload and two 24 byte avl_tree_node_ts to handle its storage in
both an offset-sorted tree and a size-sorted tree (total size: 64
bytes). In the new model, the range seg structures are usually two 4
byte integers, but a separate one needs to exist for the size-sorted
and offset-sorted tree. Between the raw size, the 50% overhead, and
the double storage, the new btrees are expected to use 8*1.5*2 = 24
bytes per record, or 33.3% as much memory as the AVL trees (this is
for the purposes of storing metaslab range trees; for other purposes,
like scrubs, they use ~50% as much memory).

We reduced the size of the payload in the range segments by teaching
range trees about starting offsets and shifts; since metaslabs have a
fixed starting offset, and they all operate in terms of disk sectors,
we can store the ranges using 4-byte integers as long as the size of
the metaslab divided by the sector size is less than 2^32. For 512-byte
sectors, this is a 2^41 (or 2TB) metaslab, which with the default
settings corresponds to a 256PB disk. 4k sector disks can handle
metaslabs up to 2^46 bytes, or 2^63 byte disks. Since we do not
anticipate disks of this size in the near future, there should be
almost no cases where metaslabs need 64-byte integers to store their
ranges. We do still have the capability to store 64-byte integer ranges
to account for cases where we are storing per-vdev (or per-dnode) trees,
which could reasonably go above the limits discussed. We also do not
store fill information in the compact version of the node, since it
is only used for sorted scrub.

We also optimized the metaslab loading process in various other ways
to offset some inefficiencies in the btree model. While individual
operations (find, insert, remove_from) are faster for the btree than
they are for the avl tree, remove usually requires a find operation,
while in the AVL tree model the element itself suffices. Some clever
changes actually caused an overall speedup in metaslab loading; we use
approximately 40% less cpu to load metaslabs in our tests on Illumos.

Another memory and performance optimization was achieved by changing
what is stored in the size-sorted trees. When a disk is heavily
fragmented, the df algorithm used by default in ZFS will almost always
find a number of small regions in its initial cursor-based search; it
will usually only fall back to the size-sorted tree to find larger
regions. If we increase the size of the cursor-based search slightly,
and don't store segments that are smaller than a tunable size floor
in the size-sorted tree, we can further cut memory usage down to
below 20% of what the AVL trees store. This also results in further
reductions in CPU time spent loading metaslabs.

The 16KiB size floor was chosen because it results in substantial memory
usage reduction while not usually resulting in situations where we can't
find an appropriate chunk with the cursor and are forced to use an
oversized chunk from the size-sorted tree. In addition, even if we do
have to use an oversized chunk from the size-sorted tree, the chunk
would be too small to use for ZIL allocations, so it isn't as big of a
loss as it might otherwise be. And often, more small allocations will
follow the initial one, and the cursor search will now find the
remainder of the chunk we didn't use all of and use it for subsequent
allocations. Practical testing has shown little or no change in
fragmentation as a result of this change.

If the size-sorted tree becomes empty while the offset sorted one still
has entries, it will load all the entries from the offset sorted tree
and disregard the size floor until it is unloaded again. This operation
occurs rarely with the default setting, only on incredibly thoroughly

bb61cc3185 Fix encryption hierarchy issues with zfs recv -d
Currently, the recv_fix_encryption_hierarchy() function accepts
'destsnap' as one of its parameters. Originally, this was intended
to be the top-level dataset of a receive (whether or not the
receive was recursive). Unfortunately, this parameter actually is
simply the input that is passed in from the command line. When
the user specifies 'zfs recv -d', this string is actually only the
name of the receiving pool since the rest of the name is derived
from the send stream. This causes the function to fail, leaving
some datasets with an invalid encryption hierarchy.

This patch resolves this problem by passing in the top_zfs variable
instead. In order to make this work, this patch also includes some
changes that ensure the value is always present when we need it.

870e7a52c1 Fix noop receive of raw send stream
Currently, the noop receive code fails to work with raw send streams
and resuming send streams. This happens because zfs_receive_impl()
reads the DRR_BEGIN payload without reading the payload itself.
Normally, the kernel expects to read this itself, but in this case
the recv_skip() code runs instead and it is not prepared to handle
the stream being left at any place other than the beginning of a
record.

This patch resolves this issue by manually reading the DRR_BEGIN
payload in the dry-run case. This patch also includes a number of
small fixups in this code path.

30af21b025 Implement Redacted Send/Receive
Redacted send/receive allows users to send subsets of their data to
a target system. One possible use case for this feature is to not
transmit sensitive information to a data warehousing, test/dev, or
analytics environment. Another is to save space by not replicating
unimportant data within a given dataset, for example in backup tools
like zrepl.

Redacted send/receive is a three-stage process. First, a clone (or
clones) is made of the snapshot to be sent to the target. In this
clone (or clones), all unnecessary or unwanted data is removed or
modified. This clone is then snapshotted to create the "redaction
snapshot" (or snapshots). Second, the new zfs redact command is used
to create a redaction bookmark. The redaction bookmark stores the
list of blocks in a snapshot that were modified by the redaction
snapshot(s). Finally, the redaction bookmark is passed as a parameter
to zfs send. When sending to the snapshot that was redacted, the
redaction bookmark is used to filter out blocks that contain sensitive
or unwanted information, and those blocks are not included in the send
stream. When sending from the redaction bookmark, the blocks it
contains are considered as candidate blocks in addition to those
blocks in the destination snapshot that were modified since the
creation_txg of the redaction bookmark. This step is necessary to
allow the target to rehydrate data in the case where some blocks are
accidentally or unnecessarily modified in the redaction snapshot.

The changes to bookmarks to enable fast space estimation involve
adding deadlists to bookmarks. There is also logic to manage the
life cycles of these deadlists.

The new size estimation process operates in cases where previously
an accurate estimate could not be provided. In those cases, a send
is performed where no data blocks are read, reducing the runtime
significantly and providing a byte-accurate size estimate.

Fix send/recv lost spill block
When receiving a DRR_OBJECT record the receive_object() function
needs to determine how to handle a spill block associated with the
object. It may need to be removed or kept depending on how the
object was modified at the source.

This determination is currently accomplished using a heuristic which
takes in to account the DRR_OBJECT record and the existing object
properties. This is a problem because there isn't quite enough
information available to do the right thing under all circumstances.
For example, when only the block size changes the spill block is
removed when it should be kept.

What's needed to resolve this is an additional flag in the DRR_OBJECT
which indicates if the object being received references a spill block.
The DRR_OBJECT_SPILL flag was added for this purpose. When set then
the object references a spill block and it must be kept. Either
it is update to date, or it will be replaced by a subsequent DRR_SPILL
record. Conversely, if the object being received doesn't reference
a spill block then any existing spill block should always be removed.

Since previous versions of ZFS do not understand this new flag
additional DRR_SPILL records will be inserted in to the stream.
This has the advantage of being fully backward compatible. Existing
ZFS systems receiving this stream will recreate the spill block if
it was incorrectly removed. Updated ZFS versions will correctly
ignore the additional spill blocks which can be identified by
checking for the DRR_SPILL_UNMODIFIED flag.

The small downside to this approach is that is may increase the size
of the stream and of the received snapshot on previous versions of
ZFS. Additionally, when receiving streams generated by previous
unpatched versions of ZFS spill blocks may still be lost.

i.e. snprintf() can just take buffer size.

e.g. For snprintf() in module/zfs/zfs_ctldir.c, a buffer size is
MAXPATHLEN, and a caller is passing MAXPATHLEN to snprintf(), so size
should just be `path_len` to do what the caller is trying to do.

Currently, zfs send streams will include a list of all snapshots

performance problems on the receive side, especially if those

find a snapshot with a matching guid. This patch corrects the
issue by ensuring only streams that require this list of snapshots

f00ab3f22c Detect and prevent mixed raw and non-raw sends
Currently, there is an issue in the raw receive code where
raw receives are allowed to happen on top of previously
non-raw received datasets. This is a problem because the
source-side dataset doesn't know about how the blocks on
the destination were encrypted. As a result, any MAC in
the objset's checksum-of-MACs tree that is a parent of both
blocks encrypted on the source and blocks encrypted by the
destination will be incorrect. This will result in
authentication errors when we decrypt the dataset.

This patch fixes this issue by adding a new check to the
raw receive code. The code now maintains an "IVset guid",
which acts as an identifier for the set of IVs used to
encrypt a given snapshot. When a snapshot is raw received,
the destination snapshot will take this value from the
DRR_BEGIN payload. Non-raw receives and normal "zfs snap"
operations will cause ZFS to generate a new IVset guid.
When a raw incremental stream is received, ZFS will check
that the "from" IVset guid in the stream matches that of
the "from" destination snapshot. If they do not match, the
code will error out the receive, preventing the problem.

This patch requires an on-disk format change to add the
IVset guids to snapshots and bookmarks. As a result, this
patch has errata handling and a tunable to help affected
users resolve the issue with as little interruption as
possible.

4a385862b7 Prevent raw zfs recv -F if dataset is unencrypted
The current design of ZFS encryption only allows a dataset to
have one DSL Crypto Key at a time. As a result, it is important
that the zfs receive code ensures that only one key can be in use
at a time for a given DSL Directory. zfs receive -F complicates
this, since the new dataset is received as a clone of the existing
one so that an atomic switch can be done at the end. To prevent
confusion about which dataset is actually encrypted a check was
added to ensure that encrypted datasets cannot use zfs recv -F to
completely replace existing datasets. Unfortunately, the check did
not take into account unencrypted datasets being overriden by
encrypted ones as a case.

Along the same lines, the code also failed to ensure that raw
recieves could not be done on top of existing unencrypted
datasets, which causes amny problems since the new stream cannot
be decrypted.

aee1dd4d98 Fix intra-pool resumable 'zfs send -t <token>'
Because resuming from a token requires "guid" -> "snapshot" mapping
we have to walk the whole dataset hierarchy to find the right snapshot
to send; when both source and destination exists, for an incremental
resumable stream, libzfs gets confused and picks up the wrong snapshot
to send from: this results in attempting to send

   "destination@snap1 -> source@snap2"

instead of

   "source@snap1 -> source@snap2"

which fails with a "Invalid cross-device link" error (EXDEV).

Fix this by adjusting the logic behind dataset traversal in
zfs_iter_children() to pick the right snapshot to send from.

Additionally update dry-run 'zfs send -t' to print its output to
stderr: this is consistent with other dry-run commands.

b525630342 Native Encryption for ZFS on Linux
This change incorporates three major pieces:

The first change is a keystore that manages wrapping
and encryption keys for encrypted datasets. These
commands mostly involve manipulating the new
DSL Crypto Key ZAP Objects that live in the MOS. Each
encrypted dataset has its own DSL Crypto Key that is
protected with a user's key. This level of indirection
allows users to change their keys without re-encrypting
their entire datasets. The change implements the new
subcommands "zfs load-key", "zfs unload-key" and
"zfs change-key" which allow the user to manage their
encryption keys and settings. In addition, several new
flags and properties have been added to allow dataset
creation and to make mounting and unmounting more
convenient.

The second piece of this patch provides the ability to
encrypt, decyrpt, and authenticate protected datasets.
Each object set maintains a Merkel tree of Message
Authentication Codes that protect the lower layers,
similarly to how checksums are maintained. This part
impacts the zio layer, which handles the actual
encryption and generation of MACs, as well as the ARC
and DMU, which need to be able to handle encrypted
buffers and protected data.

The last addition is the ability to do raw, encrypted
sends and receives. The idea here is to send raw
encrypted and compressed data and receive it exactly
as is on a backup system. This means that the dataset
on the receiving system is protected using the same
user key that is in use on the sending side. By doing
so, datasets can be efficiently backed up to an
untrusted system without fear of data being
compromised.

All of the above are not necessary if we are receiving a stream for a

of applying the properties to the received datasets.

e24548975c OpenZFS 7745 - print error if lzc_* is called before libzfs_core_init
The problem is that consumers of `libZFS_Core` that forget to call
`libzfs_core_init()` before calling any other function of the library
are having a hard time realizing their mistake. The library's internal
file descriptor is declared as global static, which is ok, but it is not
initialized explicitly; therefore, it defaults to 0, which is a valid
file descriptor. If `libzfs_core_init()`, which explicitly initializes
the correct fd, is skipped, the ioctl functions return errors that do
not have anything to do with `libZFS_Core`, where the problem is
actually located.

Even though assertions for that existed within `libZFS_Core` for debug
builds, they were never enabled because the `-DDEBUG` flag was missing
from the compiler flags.

This patch applies the following changes:

    1. It adds `-DDEBUG` for debug builds of `libZFS_Core` and `libzfs`,
to enable their assertions on debug builds.

    2. It corrects an assertion within `libzfs`, where a function had
been spelled incorrectly (`zpool_prop_unsupported()`) and nobody
knew because the `-DDEBUG` flag was missing, and the preprocessor
was taking that part of the code away.

    3. The library's internal fd is initialized to `-1` and `VERIFY`
assertions have been placed to check that the fd is not equal to
`-1` before issuing any ioctl. It is important here to note, that
the `VERIFY` assertions exist in both debug and non-debug builds.

    4. In `libzfs_core_fini` we make sure to never increment the
refcount of our fd below 0, and also reset the fd to `-1` when no
one refers to it. The reason for this, is for the rare case that
the consumer closes all references but then calls one of the
library's functions without using `libzfs_core_init()` first, and
in the mean time, a previous call to `open()` decided to reuse
our previous fd. This scenario would have passed our assertion in
       non-debug builds.

    5. Once the `ASSERTION` macros were enabled again, two tests from
the test suite were failing in `libzfs_sendrecv.c` at a
`ZIO_CHECKSUM_IS_ZERO` check within `dump_record()`. We now zero
the kernel filled checksums in all `dmu_replay_record`s that we
read in `cksummer()`, except the ones that are of type
       `DRR_BEGIN`.

I considered making all assertions available for both debug and
non-debug builds, but I figured that it would not be appropriate if, for
example, an outside consumer of `libZFS_Core` suddenly triggers an
assertion failure because they happened to call `libzfs_core_fini()`,
even if previously the reference counter was `0`. Therefore, all the
reference counter related assertions are only enabled for debug builds,
and fd related assertions are enabled for debug and non-debug builds.

Porting notes:
- `ASSERT3S(g_refcount, >, 0);` added to `recv_impl` in
  lib/libzfs_core/libzfs_core.c .

ee36c709c3 Performance optimization of AVL tree comparator functions
perf: 2.75x faster ddt_entry_compare()
First 256bits of ddt_key_t is a block checksum, which are expected
to be close to random data. Hence, on average, comparison only needs to
look at first few bytes of the keys. To reduce number of conditional
jump instructions, the result is computed as: sign(memcmp(k1, k2)).

Sign of an integer 'a' can be obtained as: `(0 < a) - (a < 0)` := {-1, 0, 1} ,
which is computed efficiently. Synthetic performance evaluation of
original and new algorithm over 1G random keys on 2.6GHz Intel(R) Xeon(R)

fc897b24b2 Rework of fletcher_4 module
- Benchmark memory block is increased to 128kiB to reflect real block sizes more
accurately. Measurements include all three stages needed for checksum generation,
i.e. `init()/compute()/fini()`. The inner loop is repeated multiple times to offset
overhead of time function.

- Fastest implementation selects native and byteswap methods independently in
benchmark. To support this new function pointers `init_byteswap()/fini_byteswap()`
are introduced.

- Implementation mutex lock is replaced by atomic variable.

- To save time, benchmark is not executed in userspace. Instead, highest supported
implementation is used for fastest. Default userspace selector is still 'cycle'.

- `fletcher_4_native/byteswap()` methods use incremental methods to finish
calculation if data size is not multiple of vector stride (currently 64B).

- Added `fletcher_4_native_varsize()` special purpose method for use when buffer size
is not known in advance. The method does not enforce 4B alignment on buffer size, and
will ignore last (size % 4) bytes of the data buffer.

- Benchmark `kstat` is changed to match the one of vdev_raidz. It now shows
throughput for all supported implementations (in B/s), native and byteswap,
as well as the code [fastest] is running.

43e52eddb1 Implement zfs_ioc_recv_new() for OpenZFS 2605
Adds ZFS_IOC_RECV_NEW for resumable streams and preserves the legacy
ZFS_IOC_RECV user/kernel interface. The new interface supports all
stream options but is currently only used for resumable streams.
This way updated user space utilities will interoperate with older
kernel modules.

ZFS_IOC_RECV_NEW is modeled after the existing ZFS_IOC_SEND_NEW
handler. Non-Linux OpenZFS platforms have opted to change the
legacy interface in an incompatible fashion instead of adding a
new ioctl.

Porting Notes:

* Included in this patch is a tiny ISP2() cleanup in zio_init() from
Illumos 5255.

* Unlike the upstream Illumos commit this patch does not impose an
arbitrary 128K block size limit on volumes. Volumes, like filesystems,
are limited by the zfs_max_recordsize=1M module option.

* By default the maximum record size is limited to 1M by the module
option zfs_max_recordsize. This value may be safely increased up to
16M which is the largest block size supported by the on-disk format.
At the moment, 1M blocks clearly offer a significant performance
improvement but the benefits of going beyond this for the majority
of workloads are less clear.

* The illumos version of this patch increased DMU_MAX_ACCESS to 32M.
This was determined not to be large enough when using 16M blocks
because the zfs_make_xattrdir() function will fail (EFBIG) when
assigning a TX. This was immediately observed under Linux because
all newly created files must have a security xattr created and
that was failing. Therefore, we've set DMU_MAX_ACCESS to 64M.

* On 32-bit platforms a hard limit of 1M is set for blocks due
to the limited virtual address space. We should be able to relax
this one the ABD patches are merged.

3df293404a Fix type mismatch on 32-bit systems
The umem_alloc_aligned() function should not assume that a 'void *'
type is 64-bit. It will not be on 32-bit platforms. Rather than
complicating the ASSERT to handle this it is simply removed.

Additionally, the '%lu' format specifier should not be assumed to
imply a 64-bit value. Fix this by using the 'llu' format specifier
which will always be atleast 64-bit and explicitly casing the
variable to an u_longlong_t. This issue is handled the same way
in many other parts of the code.

5c3f61eb49 Increase Linux pipe buffer size on 'zfs receive'
I noticed when reviewing documentation that it is possible for user
space to use fctnl(fd, F_SETPIPE_SZ, (unsigned long) size) to change
the kernel pipe buffer size on Linux to increase the pipe size up to
the value specified in /proc/sys/fs/pipe-max-size. There are users using
mbuffer to improve zfs recv performance when piping over the network, so
it seems advantageous to integrate such functionality directly into the
zfs recv tool. This avoids the addition of two buffers and two copies
(one for the buffer mbuffer adds and another for the additional pipe),
so it should be more efficient.

This could have been made configurable and/or this could have changed
the value back to the original after we were done with the file
descriptor, but I do not see a strong case for doing either, so I
went with a simple implementation.

e890dd85a7 Produce a full snapshot list for zfs send -p
In order to accelerate zfs receive operations in the face of many
property-containing snapshots, commit 0574855 changed the header nvlist
("fss") of a send stream to exclude snapshots which aren't part of the
stream. This, however, would cause zfs receive -F to erroneously remove
snapshots; it would remove any snapshot which wasn't listed in the header
nvlist.

This patch restores the full list of snapshots in fss[<id>[snaps]] but
still suppresses the properties of non-sent snapshots and also removes a
consistency check in which an error is raised if a listed snapshot does
not have any properties in fss[<id>[snapprops]].

The 0574855 commit also introduced a bug in which zfs send -p of a
complete stream (zfs send -p pool/fs@snap) would exclude the snapshot
properties in fss[<id>[snapprops]]. This patch detects the last snapshot
in a series when no "from" snapshot has been specified and includes its
properties.

057485504e zfs send -p send properties only for snapshots that are actually sent
... as opposed to sending properties of all snapshots of the relevant
filesystem. The previous behavior results in properties being set on
all snapshots on the receiving side, which is quite slow.

Behavior of zfs send -R is not changed.
