f6a0dac84 modified the zfs_iter_* functions to take a new "flags"
parameter, and introduced a variety of flags to ask the kernel to limit
the results in various ways, reducing the amount of work the caller
needed to do to filter out things they didn't need.
Unfortunately this change broke the ABI for existing clients (read:
older versions of the `zfs` program), and was reverted 399b98198.
dc95911d2 reintroduced the original patch, with the understanding that a
backwards-compatible fix would be made before the 2.2 release branch was
tagged. This commit is that fix.
This introduces zfs_iter_*_v2 functions that have the new flags
argument, and reverts the existing functions to not have the flags
parameter, as they were before. The old functions are now reimplemented
in terms of the new, with flags set to 0.

After addressing coverity complaints involving `nvpair_name()`, the
compiler started complaining about dropping const. This lead to a rabbit
hole where not only `nvpair_name()` needed to be constified, but also
`nvpair_value_string()`, `fnvpair_value_string()` and a few other static
functions, plus variable pointers throughout the code. The result became
a fairly big change, so it has been split out into its own patch.

If the fields to be listed and sorted by are constrained to those
populated by dsl_dataset_fast_stat(), then zfs list is much faster,
as it does not need to open each objset and reads its properties.
A previous optimization by Pawel Dawidek
(0cee24064a) took advantage
of this to make listing snapshot names sorted only by name much faster.
However, it was limited to `-o name -s name`, this work extends this
optimization to work with:
- name
- guid
- createtxg
- numclones
- inconsistent
- redacted
- origin
and could be further extended to any other properties supported by
dsl_dataset_fast_stat() or similar, that do not require extra locking
or reading from disk.
This was committed before (9a9e2e343dfa2af28bf7910de77ae73aa006de62),
but was reverted due to a regression when used with an older kernel.
If the kernel does not populate zc->zc_objset_stats, we now fallback
to getting the properties via the slower interface, to avoid problems
with newer userland and older kernels.

- When iterating snapshots with name only, e.g., "-o name -s name",
libzfs uses simple snapshot iterator and results are displayed
in alphabetic order. This PR adds support for faster version of
createtxg sort by avoiding nvlist parsing for properties. Flags
"-o name -s createtxg" will enable createtxg sort while using
simple snapshot iterator.
- Added support to read createtxg property directly from zfs handle
for filesystem, volume and snapshot types instead of parsing nvlist.

Currently, when attempting to list snapshots ZFS may do a lot of
extra work checking child datasets. This is because the code does
not realize that it will not be able to reach any snapshots
contained within snapshots that are at the depth limit since the
snapshots of those datasets are counted as an additional layer
deeper. This patch corrects this issue.
In addition, this patch adds the ability to do perform the commands:
$ zfs list -t snapshot <dataset>
$ zfs get -t snapshot <prop> <dataset>
as a convenient way to list out properties of all snapshots of a
given dataset without having to use the depth limit.

This patch modifies the zfs_ioc_snapshot_list_next() ioctl to enable it
to take input parameters that alter the way looping through the list of
snapshots is performed. The idea here is to restrict functions that
throw away some of the snapshots returned by the ioctl to a range of
snapshots that these functions actually use. This improves efficiency
and execution speed for some rollback and send operations.

Minimal changes required to integrate the SPL sources in to the
ZFS repository build infrastructure and packaging.
Build system and packaging:
* Renamed SPL_* autoconf m4 macros to ZFS_*.
* Removed redundant SPL_* autoconf m4 macros.
* Updated the RPM spec files to remove SPL package dependency.
* The zfs package obsoletes the spl package, and the zfs-kmod
package obsoletes the spl-kmod package.
* The zfs-kmod-devel* packages were updated to add compatibility
symlinks under /usr/src/spl-x.y.z until all dependent packages
can be updated. They will be removed in a future release.
* Updated copy-builtin script for in-kernel builds.
* Updated DKMS package to include the spl.ko.
* Updated stale AUTHORS file to include all contributors.
* Updated stale COPYRIGHT and included the SPL as an exception.
* Renamed README.markdown to README.md
* Renamed OPENSOLARIS.LICENSE to LICENSE.
* Renamed DISCLAIMER to NOTICE.
Required code changes:
* Removed redundant HAVE_SPL macro.
* Removed _BOOT from nvpairs since it doesn't apply for Linux.
* Initial header cleanup (removal of empty headers, refactoring).
* Remove SPL repository clone/build from zimport.sh.
* Use of DEFINE_RATELIMIT_STATE and DEFINE_SPINLOCK removed due
to build issues when forcing C99 compilation.
* Replaced legacy ACCESS_ONCE with READ_ONCE.
* Include needed headers for `current` and `EXPORT_SYMBOL`.

OpenZFS-issue: https://www.illumos.org/issues/6637
OpenZFS-commit: https://github.com/openzfs/openzfs/commit/d189620Closes#5572
When fetching property values of snapshots, a check against the head
dataset type must be performed. Previously, this additional check was
performed only when fetching "version", "normalize", "utf8only" or "case".
This caused the ZPL properties "acltype", "exec", "devices", "nbmand",
"setuid" and "xattr" to be erroneously displayed with meaningless values
for snapshots of volumes. It also did not allow for the display of
"volsize" of a snapshot of a volume.
This patch adds the headcheck flag paramater to zfs_prop_valid_for_type()
and zprop_valid_for_type() to indicate the check is being done
against a head dataset's type in order that properties valid only for
snapshots are handled correctly. This allows the the head check in
get_numeric_property() to be performed when fetching a property for
a snapshot.

The vast majority of these changes are in Linux specific code.
They are the result of not having an automated style checker to
validate the code when it was originally written. Others were
caused when the common code was slightly adjusted for Linux.
This patch contains no functional changes. It only refreshes
the code to conform to style guide.
Everyone submitting patches for inclusion upstream should now
run 'make checkstyle' and resolve any warning prior to opening
a pull request. The automated builders have been updated to
fail a build if when 'make checkstyle' detects an issue.

FreeBSD #xxx: Dramatically optimize listing snapshots when user
requests only snapshot names and wants to sort them by name, ie.
when executes:
# zfs list -t snapshot -o name -s name
Because only name is needed we don't have to read all snapshot
properties.
Below you can find how long does it take to list 34509 snapshots
from a single disk pool before and after this change with cold and
warm cache:
before:
# time zfs list -t snapshot -o name -s name > /dev/null
cold cache: 525s
warm cache: 218s
after:
# time zfs list -t snapshot -o name -s name > /dev/null
cold cache: 1.7s
warm cache: 1.1s
NOTE: This patch only appears in FreeBSD. If/when Illumos picks up
the change we may want to drop this patch and adopt their version.
However, for now this addresses a real issue.
